Excellent staff and magnificent location

Easy to walk to cafes, the Historic centre, penguin colony, and Steampunk HQ. Close to shopping. Well priced & budget rooms with spa bath. Great space for instance

have spent our 1 night here lovely, it was perfect for what we needed. the staff were affable and an above average and really tasty breakfast was provided. appreciated our rooms with very comfy beds. the location was marvellous there, in the centre of town.

The breakfast is above average, great food. The hotel rooms are good-sized and newly renovated with very tasteful decor. Location is favourable and absolutely perfect, to the nightlife going on around you.

A beautiful old and pretty standard hotel, my first choice in Oamaru. The rooms with the shower, spa bath, nice decor. Very central location, characterful base for discovering Oamaru.

The units are charming old with 3 beds...

The room we stayed in was tidy and affordable. 🛌 They even had electric blankets to keep us cozy. The location was awesome, super convenient to everything in town. Can't beat it!

We liked the conveience of being in town. The quaintness and history of the hotel. The rooms were basic but clean and retained to a certain degree the character of past times. We were not able to sample the food as we were visiting friends for a Birthday, but the restaurant looked attractive and inviting. We felt it was good value for money and would stay again.

Central location in Oamaru, warm and comfortable. Friendly staff, staff who've been there for quite some time - lots of familiar faces. Good value toast/beverage breakfast!

Coffee/tea service with breakfast makes a poor start to the day. It would be better if the hotel provided either hot water in a zip (rather than flasks) or even better, offer tea in a pot for no extra cost. A little point, but it makes a big difference. Offering mugs and cups at breakfast time would also be great.

The hotel was lovely, old, and recently renovated with nice decor. The breakfast was amazing. Its location was central, just 800 feet from North Otago Museum.

Friendly welcoming staff. Relaxing Old world atmosphere. Handy to shopping and sight seeing. Central. Spotlessly cleaning.

Had trouble connecting to internet, however, internet provider was in the middle of upgrading their website, so a few hiccups. Thin walls, so noisy plumbing from adjoining rooms.

Decor is fantastic. This hotel is well worth preserving. It is clean, comfortable, not as spacious as some but perfectly adequate. 150 year old floorboards tend to creak but treat them as burglar alarms. A delightful place to stay.

This place was very clean, unique, and offered beautiful sea views with spacious rooms and facilities.

Staff were pleasant and there when you needed them. Liked being in the middle of town - a good car park facility with well labelled doors to access the building from the rear.

We did not have hot water in our shower, the first morning we stayed - as we were heading out to a workshop for the day this was inconvenient and left us running late - as we took baths before we left. The problem was sorted by staff who rung a plumber to correct the problem - we had a hot shower then 2nd morning.

We were very comfortable and the meals were good staff relations excellent handy walking distance to town etc. good locality for day trips would recommend jeanne
